A perfect dining experience. The best views from the roof terrace, amazing food and fine and great service.

The service was very disappointing banking on rude. The food on the other hand was some of the best and different kind of cuisine ever had. We were celebrating our first visit to Austria and Salzburg and I wanted to treat my wife and daughter to a fine dining experience. Picked this place mainly for the rooftop terrace views of the city and good reviews. Upon arriving, we were met and seated by a tall woman who I was told was the manager. Upon being seated at our table we noticed it was next to the service table where all the utensils, napkins, etc., were stored. Not wanting to be next to the service table where it could be busy with servers coming back and forth and noisy, I went to the same manager to politely ask for another table. She started to look at a table chart and angrily mumbled, it was a busy night and it was hard and just seemed annoyed with me in front of another customer couple. It was a bit embarrassing and uncomfortable and I thought she acted unprofessionally and rudely. To sum up the night, I believe the manner to which she treated me set the tone for the rest of the evening and poor service we experienced which I'll just highlight - the waiter was not friendly or welcoming, almost refused to offer any recommendations when asked and was not very attentive. We asked another female server 3 times for a bottle of water until finally getting it from another server. Our waiter was serving other customers the rest of the evening. The same manager walked by us on numerous occasions sitting other customers and never cracked a smile at us and even seemed to avoid looking our way. BTW, the manager on multiple occasions brought customers to the table next to the serving table who all refused as well! That table remained vacant the entire evening. The good - the three dishes we shared were excellent, visually appetizing, fresh, flavorful, totally satisfying! And served promptly. In summary, hope this review is considered constructive as our experience was a mix of good and "areas for improvement" which can distinguish the just good from the Great!

Service und Essen hervorragend, die Aussicht war leider nur auf Dächer und Handymasten. Auch schön, aber die habe ich zu Hause auch 😉 Aber es war ein schöner Abend!

Die Aussicht ist wunderbar, die Bedienung sind nett und das Essen sehr lecker. Ich werde es auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Our entire experience was wonderful. The drinks, the food dessert and rooftop ambience. Jonathan was exceptional in his welcoming, attentiveness and in providing recommendations. Imlauer is a MUST when in Salzburg.

Preis Leistung top. Das Frühstück war ausgiebig und es gab eine große Auswahl. Das Ambiente ist ebenso wunderschön.

Wir haben unseren Besuch im Imlauer Sky Bar und Restaurant sehr genossen. Wir hatten schönes Wetter und haben ein Platz draußen mit toller Aussicht bekommen. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir können das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

We dined at the Sky Bar and Restaurant after having walked around Salzburg all day. Our server obliged us by ensuring that all dishes came out quickly so that we could make our train to Vienna on time. The food, the service and the ambience were top notch. Just as importantly our server consistently looked out for any dishes that could contain nuts and alerted us on time. When the desert came out and contained slivered almonds, he promptly took it back and brought a fresh one without any almonds. I cannot thank him enough for his attention to detail.
