Melker Stiftskeller offers a unique atmosphere with excellent Austrian food and good service in the heart of Vienna. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced.

Kartoffel Salat war zu sauer, zu wenig Öl, keine roten Zwiebeln, einfach eine schlechte Zubereitung. Kartoffel Rösti war verbrannt. Beiried mit Sellerie Variationen wurde lauwarm serviert. Ich war als Wiener das erste Mal da und mit Sicherheit auch das letzte Mal. Überfülltes Lokal und fehlendes Personal ist bei diesen Preisen kein Entschuldigungsgrund. Das hat mit Wiener Küche sehr wenig zu tun

Ambiente und Service waren hervorragend. Die Stelze war leider durch eine merkwürdige Soße beeinträchtigt und der Krautsalat stammt aus einem Einmachglas - da hätte man sich auf einen frischen Krautsalat gefreut. Das Schokoladensoufflé war dafür hervorragend : nicht zu süß und die Marillen haben sehr gut mit dem Soufflé harmoniert.

great place to celebrate a birthday. food was great and service good. unique cellar place to chill, have drinks and eat, with friends and family. a return visit.

Es war sehr gemütlich und freundlich. das Essen schmeckte sehr gut und war sehr schön angerichtet. leider gab es kein Vanilleeis und der Kellner brachte ohne zu fragen ein anderes Eis.

The location of the restaurant is very convenient. The atmosphere is cozy and staff is helpful. 2 of us ordered garlic cream soup, beef soup for starters, pork knuckle and boiled beef with cream spinach for main. They are very delicious and are valued for money. This was our first Austrian dinner. And the experience was special and marvellous.

My husband said his pig knuckle was quite good. I ordered creamy veal gulasch. Mine was nothing to write to home about. The plate was room temperature when it arrived and the food was lukewarm almost room temperature. My husband had a glass of beer which is always good. I tried Almdudler. I liked it. Told our waitress that I will have wine later. But no wait staff came back so that we couldn’t order wine before we finished our dinner. Service was somewhat fast and fine, not friendly but cordial. It was our bad we don’t speak enough German. Good ambience.
